Making a guitar with your own hands is a big project. Allow 2 weeks with working days of 6 hours. The result is worth the effort!
All guitars are made 100 % in handicraft and do not include any pre-fabricated materials, except metal parts. The lack of big machines is good news for enthusiasts of individual craft work and for those who want to make their own, personalized guitar. Each guitar made in this workshop is unique.
The small country of Ecuador is home to more than 1000 different species of trees. This diversity offers a huge and for a big part still unexplored treasure for instrument makers. Wayra loves to experiment with wood sorts and over the years, he collected an impressive knowledge. He uses dozens of different woods for his instruments.
If you prefer European or North American woods such as spruce or cedar for certain parts of your guitar, please bring them with you. They are expensive and not easily available in Ecuador.
